This day was clearly not my most creative. But sometimes you just have to go with what the kids want. My middle daughter picked this one out herself.
Today’s lunch:
- Plain yogurt and raspberries
- Cheese string – my kids love the Kraft aMOOZa mozzarella kind
- Grapes (Yes, I still cut them in half. I realize this is slightly crazy, but I blame it on the fact that I still cut up grapes for my 2 year old who likes to cram way too much into her mouth at once. Now cutting them up is a habit!)
- Rice crackers
- Organic sea salt pretzel sticks with hummus – We discovered Mary’s Gone Crackers and the kids seem to love them. (I do too, actually!)
So it may not be anything to write home about – but my kid liked it. I also packed some cucumber sticks and orange pepper slices in another container to get the veggies in there.
And on days like this when there’s not a ton of balance or variety, I try to make sure there will be more variety in dinner.
That’s our exciting Friday! Bring on the weekend – I’m ready for some fall apple picking and some baking. Stay tuned for some new recipes coming soon. Happy weekend!
